For $16 each day, your child enjoys a 2 hour lesson from our PSIA/AASI trained snowsports school and the rest of the day to free ski or ride. Compare this to other ski resorts that charge approximately $60-90 for a 2 hour lesson.
  • Your child receives high quality, tailored instruction!

We believe it is important for every child to reach their full potential. What this means is that we pay close to the PSIA/AASI skill level of your child, and ensure we place them in a class that suits them best. Children not allowed to access terrain that is above the level they are currently qualified for. For more information on the different levels, please refer to a description of the different Skiing and Snowboarding “ability levels”.

If your child is already a rockstar on the slopes, have them be a part of the Sky Tavern Race Team! Training includes instruction on proper skiing techniques, training on race courses and video taping and analysis. For more information on the Race Team, please refer to “Programs”

No other learn-to-ski or ride program allows parents to be as involved in their child’s experience. Parents volunteer 20 hours a year at Ski Tavern, and spend at least 16 of those assisting with Mountain and Program Operations over the course of 8 weeks.

  • Ski at Mount Rose in Spring for just $10 a day!
Keep up with the skiing after Sky Tavern closes. With a valid Sky Tavern Ski Pass, all members (children and adults) get to ski Mt Rose for just $10 a day! Usual ticket value is $64 for adults and $44 for teens between 13 and 17 years old.

Mt Rose if just 20mins from downtown Reno, on Mt Rose Highway, before you get to Mt Rose Ski Area. If you are not available to attend this program with your child, sign him or her up with the Bus Student Program, and have them be picked up from one of our six different pick up locations!
